How does blood travel through the heart?

  • Superior Vena Cava: Delivers low-oxygen blood from the body into the right atrium.

  • Right Atrium: Passes blood from superior vena cava to the right ventricle.

  • Right Ventricle: Pumps blood through the pulmonary artery/trunk to the lungs.

  • Left Atrium: Receives oxygenated blood from the lungs and passes it to the left ventricle.

  • Left Venrticle: Contracts, forcing blood into the aorta, and out to the rest of the body.
